Curtin was initially established as the Western Australian Institute of Technology in 1967 and became Curtin University of Technology in 1987. With more than 36,000 (12,000 international students) students and 2,800 staff, Curtin has a reputation for academic excellence, innovative research initiatives and close community and professional links.
Curtin offers more than 860 courses in areas such as agriculture, mining, business, biotechnology, physiotherapy, psychology, computer science, design, education, enginnering, health sciences, nanotechnology, media and nursing. Most Curtin degrees are internationally recognised. All Curtin courses have a practical or applied focus built on a solid theoretical base.
